3 Things to Know About The PRISM 37 by aGLIFF Austin

1. Screening Locations

The festival will have screenings at multiple theaters. Screening locations include Galaxy Theatre, Violet Crown Theatre, AFS Cinema, and Alamo Drafthouse Mueller. That means you have many options for catching the films.

They’ve added Sunday afternoon screenings at Violet Crown Cinemas. Festival organizers are moving the closing night film and party to Alamo Drafthouse Mueller.

2. Tickets

Attendees can get early bird weekend badges for the film festival. They cost $95 and are good for entry to all screenings. It also covers entry to all events except the Black Queer Voices Fundraiser. However, the badges do come with $25 off that event.

If you are interested in the Black Queer Voices Fundraider, the options are:

• A table of ten for $1,000 plus fees
• General admission for $100 plus fees
• Discounted tickets for badge holders at $75 plus fees

Another ticket option is the Galaxy Pass for $50. That pass gets you into Friday and Saturday screenings at Galaxy Theatres. You could also consider the Violet Crown Pass for $25. It will give you access to double or triple features at Violet Crown Cinema.

Individual film tickets are available from $15 to $40 plus fees if you prefer to pick and choose. Regular screenings cost $15, while special ones with receptions or parties cost $40. These prices are for August 1 to 25.

3. What to Expect

The festival starts with the opening night red carpet event and reception. After that, it moves on to the Queer Black Voices Screening & Dinner Fundraiser. You can also join in on Q&A sessions with the filmmakers.

This year’s lineup features some fantastic films like:

• S/He is Still Her/e – The Official Genesis P-Orridge Documentary. It digs into the life of the extraordinary artist and gender revolutionary Genesis P-Orridge.
• Desire Lines is a story about an Iranian American trans man exploring his sexuality through time travel.
• Bulletproof: A Lesbian’s Guide to Surviving the Plot is a funny look at dealing with clichés in lesbian films.

These are just some of the films at the festival. They have yet to reveal all film titles. Stay tuned for more information and prepare for an evening of art and culture in Austin.
