The ACL Fest Legacy
Did you know the ACL Fest, founded in 2002, came from a television series that aired in 1976? It’s called the Austin City Limits television show. The show is the longest-running music program on television. Time magazine recognized it as one of the most influential music shows ever. It also received the National Medal of the Arts award.
Inspired by the show’s popularity, they decided to bring the Austin music scene to life and perform it publicly. The first ACL Fest was in September 2002. It is now one of the biggest music festivals in Austin, showcasing performances from various musical styles and genres.
2023 Lineup
The Austin City Limits Music Festival 2023 Lineup includes performances from big-time musicians. It will feature artists like Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Shania Twain, The 1975, Alanis Morissette, and Hozier.
